Stalking

@ComicWho
Being a father (or mother, in Tenny's case) is a hard work, but someone have to do it! But I think that Tenny is a bit exaggerated, and when the daughters are Jenny and River, problems are right around the corner!!!

Comic Who Confidential - An Ordinary Working Day

@ComicWho
It's time for a new Confidential, this time we want to share with you the complex process leading to the creation of a strip from the script. It consists in several important steps and in most cases it can be summarized as follows...

Banana In The Pocket

Strips are back, no more celebrations, just new adventures for our heroes.
This is our first strip of 2012 and it's also a collaboration with one of our followers: Nicole Bowman! If you liked this strip, show her your appreciation and if you have a story you want it to become a Comic Who strip, just send us your script at comicwho@gmail.com We always read every script and if it's good we are going to realize your own strip ;-)

August 2011

This summer we moved to a new home, so the strips were discontinued and we published only two of them, plus a special cross over, but first things first.

Simmy want his Limeykins back. He knows he's living with the Doctors and he has a special weapon to achive his revenge

Look at Simmy's backpack, isn't it lovely? Anyway, this come from an old saying (stated in the last panel) but it works, the Doctors doesn't like apples very much (you're warned iPhone users ^_^).

We realized a strip to celebrate summer in Comic Who style, we took inspiration from one of the episodes of season 6 and we put togeher Limeykins with the Adiposes

As I told, we didn't have much time to realize a full set of strips this month, but we wanted to publish a sort of gift for our followers making a cross over with one of the greatest BBC series (besides Doctor Who, obviously)
We are talking about Life on Mars, where John Simm (Simmy) plays Sam Tyler, a police inspector sent back in time after an accident. The image is named Gene Hunt because, even if the story is based on the character of Sam Tyler, Gene Genie is unquestionably the true star!

See you space cowboy...

April 2011

April started with a sort of April's fool! Have you ever had that kind of ideas that you think: Hey, it's the silliest idea ever but it's pure genius! Well, I had that idea!
One of the greatest moments in series 5 it's the Stonehenge speech! I know it by heart! Sometimes I say it out loud, even in public places! But take a moment to think about it, think about every single enemy of the Doctor listening to that words, they know exactly what the Pandorica is an the fact that they aren't there to take control over it! Think about what you would do in their place... I think I would have laughed out loud in Nelson style! If you're a Dalek or a Cyberman or whatever you pretend to be, the Stonehenge speech is one of the funniest moments in your life, so it's perfect to fool!

Look carefully to the first and the third panel, oh yes, that's Limeykins, we're starting to put it here and there like a mascotte! But I'm not talking about it! There's a very special Roman in this strip. I'm talking about Rory, he is my favourite character and we're going to give him more and more importance, starting from the next strip...

This time the idea is from the special Christmas Invasion where a newly regenerated Doctor talk about a big threatening button. The story is all about Amy, she is one of the smartest companion of all times, so we thought she would even fool the Doctor just to borrow the TARDIS (Ok, I know, Borrow and TARDIS are two words that should never be in the same sentence)

Have you noticed the TARDIS in the background? ^_^

During April we also opened a Tumblr account, we started to note we were receiving a lot of visits from that social network, so why not open an official account?  And here we are!

Tumblr is a place where we could share everything we want and reblog what we like... we found pictures of followers, fanart or even simple comments that we simply loved to reblog.

Sometimes we publish pictures or charts or ideas, so, if you like our tiny world and you have a Tumblr account for yourself, don't esitate to follow us! It's like a secondary blog for a little more fun with more than one thousand followers! Instead, if you want a more direct contact with us, don't forget to join our Facebook page!

April 18 is the birthday of David Tennant, formerly known as the 10th Doctor. This year his birthday fell on Monday, so we wanted to celebrate him with a full strip. A sort of Mastercard Commercial with Tenny as the main character and with the guest appearence of all the other Doctors (eleven characters on a single panel... Elisa hated me!!!)

Now the sad stuff! This April we lost a great actress and one of the best companions the Doctor ever had... Elisabet 'Liz' Sladen passed away after a long fight against cancer. She was (and she will ever be) Sarah Jane Smith and we would like to remember her with the following strip:

I don't want to add any word after this strip, so i just invite you to join The Elisabeth Sladen Memorial Page!

See you tomorrow with a new month and, over all, the results of our first contest!

March 2011

Here we are with another appointment with the Comic Who history! March was a very special month with a lot of new stuff.

We started with one of my favourite strips: At the beginning, we faced the problem of Eccly and Tenny's screwdriver. In the TV series they share the same one, only Smithy has his own. So we thought it could be funny to make them fight for it. The idea was simple but Elisa made it great:

In the second panel they break the "blu" screwdriver, this is a tiny element we carried on in the next strips. Everytime we had a close-up on that screwdriver, we drew it mended with a plaster. We loved the fact that some followers noted it... thanks guys!

One of the biggest events on March was the beginning of our first contest. We invited our fans to join the creative process that gives birth to our strips. Every participant sent us a script (like the one I use to write) and we (with the help of a great jury) choosed the best script.

There were rewards and Elisa has realized the winning strips (yes, plural, other than the prize of the jury, we let our Facebook followers to vote for their favorite script)

The competition was held the day of John Borrowman's birthday, so we decided to dedicate it to his Doctor Who (and Torchwood) character: Jack Harkness!

We received more then twenty scripts, but we're going to talk about the results in one of the next posts, when we are going to show you also the strips realized for it.

Just one last thing, warm up your keybords and be ready, because we're going to held a new script contest in the next months and this time the first prize will be something extremely special, I'm sure you're going to fight for it!

The next set of strips was our first story divided in different parts. As we told in the last post, we decided to introduce more then one Master. The idea came from the end of series three, when the Master regenerates inside the TARDIS. He told "If The Doctor can be young and strong, then so can I"... young... younger then ever... too much young!!!!

Yana will be a regular character as Simmy, they are going to live together as a family... a very strange family, but hey, this is the Comic Who world!
In the second strip we introduced for the first time alle the companion and we tried to outline the nature of each Doctor (Exterminate! :D)
The last strip  is very important because it was also the first appearence of a new character: Limeykins, the green teddy bear you can se with Simmy! It began as a sort of mistake from Elisa and became suddenly one of our favourite characters! Read The Truth Behind Limeykins to know more about it!

That's all folks! See you tomorrow!

Christmas Special

Back in the 70's Simmy is going to celebrate Christmas alone with baby Yana! But you know, at Christmas time miracles do happen and sometime even foes become friends!

Simmy's going to leave the 70's, but I promise, next year we'll have more Classic Who. This is our last strip for 2011 and it's also the last strip for our first year... We're getting older; January 14, 2011 we start this wonderful journey and now, with 2000 followers on Facebook, 1000 followers on Tumblr and more then 300 regular followers on Blogger, we are going to celebrate our birthday with you all! Prepare yourself, because celebrations will start on New Year's day!

Merry Christmas to you and your families from the Comic Who Staff!

Yana Against Bakey Jr. - Part 2

Last call for our contest! You have only one day to send us your work, so don't waste time anymore!

Last time we left Yana and Bakey Jr. in a fight. Children are more impulsive, this is why adults have to take care of them and they must set a good example... or maybe not! Simmy's adventures in the 70s continue, but they are going to reach a conclusion with the Christmas special, so stay tuned!

Time Travel

Before the new strip I have a little remind for you, so be patient and don't look at me with that Cyberman expression:

Comic Who - Christmas Contest 2011

Don't forget our contest, actually we received 13 entries, but we want more! Only one week remaining, so don't wast time and send us a mail at comicwho@gmail.com with your christmas work.

Remember, the Christmas contest will last on Decmber 23th at 11:59 PM (UTC) and results will be published on this blog on Christmas day!

We live in a timey wimey world, when I first wrote the script for the today strip, Elisa felt in love with the idea of mixing Doctor Who and Life on Mars because of Simmy... when I came back from work she showed me the sketch for this pinup. But while we have a long running schedule for the strips, we just publish pinup whenever they come out from Elisa's mind, so the today story is the "first part" of that story. This is also the first of a four part story which will end with the Christmas Special, so get ready, because we're going to release a lot of strip from today to the Christmas Day!

Bad Bad Beans

Did you have fun on Halloween? Let see how our little heroes have spent their evening. They surely had fun, they surely had sweets (Eccly and Smithy greased a couple of pounds), but they also were scared... by beans.

Ronin Revolver

Hi guys,
we received and gladly share the press release of a new comic project. They need your help, so take a look:

"Ronin Revolver: Samurai Western at its Best!

The RONIN REVOLVER ANTHOLOGY showcases stories set in an Old West touched by Asian influences.  As this world progresses through to modern times, out-dated traditions drift off with the wind, replaced with modern counterparts.  Funds are currently being raised at Kickstarter.com, an all-or-nothing funding site where certain pledge amounts receive special incentives; some incentives include printed copies of the anthology, art prints, and real-life people as characters in the stories.

Set for an early 2012 release, this online anthology will be offered for free, a new short story every two weeks.  But the creator needs your help.  Funds received go toward compensating the illustrator for all his hard work.

S.A. Williams received a B.A. in Literature from Florida State University.  He fell in love with the writing of Chris Claremont's Uncanny X-Men, as well as other contemporary writers who use themes lifted from society and other literary genres.  He's also an avid reader of the Naruto manga, which helped inspire some themes for the anthology's stories.
For updates on this project, visit http://ronin-revolver.blogspot.com.  For pledges to making this creator's dream happen, go to Kickstarter.com and type "Ronin Revolver" in the search engine.  Funding on Kickstarter.com ends on November 22nd."

Bad Feelings

A few months ago I asked on our Facebook Page what kind of subject they would like to see covered on our strips. A lot of fan asked us to introduce the character of Jenny (10th Doctor's daughter). It was quite hard to find a good way to introduce her, but then I thought about what would happen if Jenny had appeared during a date between the Doctor and River...and what if the Doctor wasn't Tenny? Check it out!

This was just an experiment, but if you like it, I will try to increasingly involve the Facebook community. One last thing, we added a little easter egg into the strip. It's quite easy to find it, but I think it's still funny ^_^

The Secret Weapon

Actually we are a little busy... we are moving into a new home... for the third time in 4 years... we really hope this is the last one ^_^
This is why in the last weeks the release of the new strips is a bit delayed! We hope you'll understand and don't worry, we are without a broadband connection, without our stuff (and still without a dish washer ç_ç)  but we'll never give up :D
And this is the new strip. In the past weeks we saw how much Simmy is missing his Limeykins and now it's time to revenge... well, sort of... Take a look :D

Comic Who Confidential - Valentine's Outtake

Today, with the new Comic Who Confidential, we go behind the scenes. Infact, not all strips are good at the first ciak, there is always someone who wants a little fun and in the end everyone laughs and the work has to be redone. On Valentine's Day our heroes had to reshoot the scene 42 times because Limeykins absolutely wanted to play the Smithy's role.
